she's man shy

i love these semi-adult comics. here, miss pink-skirt seems to be afraid of the big S-E-X. why must she be so afraid? oh well, i don't want to be insensitive here. maybe she has PTSD due to some kind of past abuse. could it be she's just scared she'll fall in love, and love too much, and 'lose her head,' or something. but her date looks tame enough. he's got a t-square in his book and everything. and he doesn't seem overly-pushy. so yeah, she's got a hang-up. knowing if i was that afraid of male attention i'd wear a skirt that came down at least three inches below my panty-line. hey, it's called de-sexualizing yourself, hon... look into it. well, in the last frame, it seems like she's considering getting some professional help. maybe there's some hope for her after all.

comics you wish you had

okay, i've owned a lot of media in my time, but i've never been fortunate enough to lay my hands on 'now' comics like 'girls' romances.' this one is priced at only 12 cents, so it must've been printed a long time ago. apparently this one is commenting on the widening cultural gap of young adults in the late 1960's. ( mmm, almadora... way to jerk-off, sociology-wise about a damn comic book. ) okay, where was i? i dig how the dude has long hair and some version of a 'soul patch,' although i'm sure they called it something else back then. ( a 'Shaggy...?' ) so yeah, he's all ready to go backpacking up the coast of California, but the fretting blonde 'establishment' chick is having mixed feelings. as her speech balloon reveals: "...oh, kip..." ( so his name is kip, that's great. ) "...i do love you... but you know how my parents feel about you... and that crazy, hippie life you lead...!" and she's crying real tears. i would LOVE to get my hands on an actual copy of this. (ps. i dig how 'kip' is making those 'tender' hand gestures. )
