lui sweet jane

jane birkin, ladies and gentlemen. you may think you don't know her, but you probably do. she played the frail maid in the agatha christie film version of 'death on the nile,' and christine redfern, the frail wife in the film version of 'evil under the sun.' ( one of my favorite movies, ever. ) and here she is, daring to be baring it with a tit-load of beaded necklaces. she was also the waifish protogee of french svengali serge gainsbourg in the 70's. she even cut a few pop records. ( check youtube. ) from the phrase 'special noel,' i'm assuming this is the boffo christmas issue. i dig those hip-snugging black panties.... or, les panteez noir. yeah, i'm a big fan of janie birkin. she can come to my holiday party anytime.

bibi and birkin

okay, straight up, please don't flag me, they're only human naked chicks, and we've all seen that before. and this won't take long anyway. here we have the second (or third) mention of miss jane birkin in less than five days. yes, here's the slinky and french miss birkin, in the very very nude... in bed, in some movie i haven't been able to identify. she looks playful enough. and yes, the broad over her shoulder is the also-french-and-nude miss brigitte (overrated by me) bardot. yeah, so... they're not really doing anything, i know... they're not even kissing, they're not even pillowfighting, they're just kind of laying there. but, what makes this shot postworthy is the fact that... miss bardot has a very lit-and-hot-and-apt-to-cause-injury-to-delicate-flesh cigarette (!!) not six inches from miss birkin's somewhat-concealed 'private garden.' knowing if i was going to break my 95% 'straight' rule, and actively get in bed with another chick, i think i'd very much have to insist-and-stand firm by a 'no lit cigarettes near my pussycat area...!!' -rule. but hey, that's just me. (click to enlarge... i mean, hey, if you want to... i'm not here to judge.)

jane birkin : 'ex fan des sixties' - video

i know jean-lucien is very familiar with this this, so i'm posting it primarily for lucynell and anyone new to the planet. its a music video for a french pop song from the actress jane birkin, who can be seen in both 'death on the nile' and 'evil under the sun.' she's lovely, and skinny and french and all that, but i think she might want to stick to 'acting' as her main career. perhaps, after you hear this enchanting song, you'll think otherwise... but i doubt it. its like, she's singing about all these 60's-prominent rock stars, but she throws buddy holly in there. correct me if i'm wrong, but he didn't exactly 'burn up' the psychedelic scene with his sounds. and then we've got shots of james dean thrown in there. and speaking of 'thrown,' it sort of looks like she was thrown out there with 'le garbage' in her peasant blouse and bare feet. still, its a video that has to be seen to be truly appreciated. so roll it and dig it, jane's landmark strident vocal performance.

a dead language

this is a shot of mr. and mrs. redfern... specifically, christine and patrick. it is, of course, from the agatha christie movie mystery, 'evil under the sun,' starring my darling peter ustinov as the great belgian detective. the girl playing christine is the frolicksome and very french miss jane birkin. if you're interested to hear any of her lilting french pop songs, then youtube will be able to help you with that. as for the dude, i know he was in 'excalibur,' but apart from that, i really don't think i've seen him in anything besides this.

back the serge

only not the 'surge' he meant. i'm talking about the purposefully mysterious serge gainsbourg. i must be honest, i learned about serge gainsbourg because of this album cover, which i believe is a work of art on its own. i also didn't learn until later that the model in the cool jeans is none other than the actress and sometimes slinky chanteuse, miss jane birkin. i grew up knowing jane as the weedy madame redfern from the film 'evil under the sun.' i have since made myself acquainted with their musical collaborations. i like the cover better.
