the smoking police

as part of my ongoing grand reopening of 'planetcool,' i'm gonna raise a toast to the groovy chick who gave me the nudge to get back into it. lucynell, this one's for you. although, i'm sure you've probably seen this one before. i doubt there's a single shot of the police that you haven't seen before. i chose this one because i wickedly love to see good-looking men smoking cigarettes. i know, it's evil, i know. still... i think it's hot. okay, who wins the 'horserace' in this picture? normally, i think stewart is like, ten times better looking than sting... and i've honestly yet to see a real bad shot of andy summers, however, i reluctantly have to give the honors to weird sting in this instance. i mean, look at that pose! the angle of the cig, the curve of his neck..! yeah, sorry stewart, sorry andy, i gotta give it to gordon this time. i know lucynell will probably disagree with me, but... ( sigh, cranking gesture ) what are ya gonna do?

hey, i may be a girl from a small town, but i know a rare photograph when i see it. this shot of sting and the wonderful andy partridge from xtc definitely qualifies. i know i haven't seen it before. i can tell by the faces and clothes that it was probably taken in frejus, france during the taping of the film 'urgh, a music war.' if you get a chance, you must see xtc's blistering performance of the hard and hot 'respectable street.' yes, in this shot, it was sting that gave the 'rabbit ears' to andy, but if you ask me, it was sting that was 'stung' when the genius boys from Swindon took the stage and absolutely killed.
