sultry sarandon

okay, it seems like its 'all about sexy' tonight on the 'planet.' beneath, you'll find my 'kiss-out' to joe strummer. but first, like, yowza! may i introduce miss sexy susan sarandon from the weird mid-70's movie 'pretty baby.' susan was as beautiful as ever in this film, where she plays a whore. (hey, did you expect me to sugar-coat it? she works in a new orleans whorehouse... i'm pretty sure that makes her a whore.) but like, wow! she has to be the best whore in the house. fortuately for movie-goers, this otherwise dry, slow, self-indulgent movie is spiced up with some great shots of susan, going topless for the cameras. yeah, you've seen it before... keith carradine's taking her picture, and suze like, undoes her top, powders her amazing ta-ta's, and even like, plays with 'em a little bit. i found this shot a few nights ago... but i realize now i probably should've put in the dvd and taken some shots straight from the film. (yes, i admit... i own it. hey, its a beautiful-looking movie... and the topless 'suze' scenes have been worth the 9-something-dollars-and-change i paid for it a few years ago.) click to enlarge.

sweet susan

umm, where do i start? i think this shot speaks for itself. lets see... we've got the beautiful susan sarandon, and she's got her blouse wide open. this shot was, of course, taken from the controversial 1978 louis malle film 'pretty baby.' susan plays a prostitute, and mother to a very young and beautiful brooke sheilds. (hey, who besides me is amazed THAT girl turned out alright?) i've tried to 'seriously' watch that movie several times, but... i hate to say this... for all that film has going for it, its 'pretty boring.' i mean, everything looks gorgeous. the clothes, the girls, the music, the lush cinematography... and most of the cast, (including brooke) are excellent. but somehow, it always leaves me with a big ho-hum. i also remember it was super-scandalous when it was released. but i remember watching it as a small girl when it finally reached HBO, and i remember thinking to myself, even at that young age; '...this is what people were so upset about?' but hey, this post is about pretty miss susan. and i'm taking the chance of posting the outright 'full frontal' shot of the Suze, in hopes people will realize the overexposed nature of the lighting obscures much of the 'breastial' detail. dig it.

happy birthday susan

yeah, i just noticed that today is susan sarandon's 62nd birthday. so, since i dig her, i thought i'd post a little tribute. i do think she's beautiful, and i do think she can act. and man, she's really stuck in there, hollywood-wise, and established herself as a movie star in the classic sense. i can't remember the first time i noticed her. it must've been like, the first time 'pretty baby' was run on HBO, because i know i watched that. even though i was like, nine years old or something, our mother let us watch everything. (and i thank her for it.) and of course she was hotly prominent in my full-throttle 'rocky horror picture show' days and nights. and i dug her nude-and-lesbo-curious ways in 'the hunger,' and nude-and-hetero-wanton ways in 'bull durham,' and her semi-nude-pg-13-ways in that marvelous turkey, 'the witches of eastwick.' and let's not forget her never-nude-gun-shooting-girl-power-ways in 'themla and louise.' yeah, i can't help it, i love 'the suze.' happy birthday susan, and thanks for all those cool and groovy 'greensboro-high point-winston-salem-augusta-georgia' movie nites!

cute suzy

tonight's featured smoker is the one and only miss susan sarandon. from the hair and face, i'd say this was relatively early in her career; i'm guessing post-rocky horror, somewhere around 'king of the gypsies' or maybe even 'atlantic city.' i can't remember a time in my life when i didn't like susan sarandon. in louis malle's 'pretty baby' she sometimes managed to upstage the surreal spectacle of a teenage brooke sheilds. she was wonderful in 'bull durham,' and she managed to lift some scenes in 'witches of eastwick' up to a glory the movie did not deserve. but after all the classics and duds, i still love 'the suze.' nobody else looks or sounds or seems quite like her.
