a little valmont never hurt anybody

...well, unless you're one of the two chicks in the movie who he like, screws around with and like, does the emotional equivalent of 'leaving them for dead.' so, man... i've had like, zero-bust ideas for anything to post lately. so, not unlike last night's 'ann-margret cleavage,' i figured i couldn't go wrong with a great screen capture of malkovich in his sexy, sexy 'ribbon-and-wrist-array' rags. i just had the disc in a little while ago, and took a couple of fast shots. not a lot of planning involved, just point-and-shoot kind of stuff. so girls and guys, enjoy this creamy strawberry-scented profile of the man, the man who knows how to break your heart. but you know he makes it... ungh-ungh! ...hurt so good.

leia captured

here is another photographic experiment i tried when i had 'a new hope' rolling. i just got my camera right up on the screen and started shooting. as i've said before, i like the silky fine grain to the edges. hey, she's part of a diplomatic mission to aalderan. but darth thinks she's '...part of the rebel alliance, and a traitor.' and then, there's that scene where that floating robot dude comes into her cell with a big fat syringe of red liquid ready to stab and fill her veins with... well, apparently something that doesn't cloud her judgement too much. i mean, she springs right up and bolts out the door, quite energetically, once luke skywalker gets there. hey, maybe the robot gave her 'uppers.' who knows? but still, dig on this big silky shot of the princess i got.

neil

yes, its been a slow week here on the planet. hopefully by next week i'll be flush with various wild ideas. hey, dig how cold it is out here tonight... 8! yes, a big bad single-digit 8 degrees! its a good thing i've got a fire going. okay, where was i? umm, yes... i love you all, like 'late-nite' style. and here to mark my place is a 'just for laffs' shot taken by me from my screen. its nigel planer, as neil, in 'the young ones.' and if you don't already know what's going on in this shot, its hard to explain, so i think i'm just gonna 'let it be' visual. i love you all, i hope you're keeping warm, and i promise to be back soon with more pearls and laughs. peace.

experimental joe

i don't have a lot of energy tonight. maybe its a lunar thing. (did i already say that last night?) anyway, i was messing around with my camera tonight, and a clash video came up in my shuffler, and i thought, like, why the hell not take a shot of the screen, and see if you can get a half-way decent image. and, not to brag, but i think i did. sure, its a little hazy, but still worth having in my files. especially since i had to make my video player 'full screen,' and had to 'sharpshoot' without pausing, but all that considered, i think it looks pretty darn good. then i cropped it, brought up the color a little, and decided it could make it to the final picture file. so i might try to mess around with photographing the screen in the future. like i'll get all 'nick-rhodes-conceptual' and pretend to be weird and... all that junk. (its from a performance of the clash song 'tommy gun,' by the way.)

so feinnes

i thought i'd end the night with a shot of ralph feinnes. my discount non-crieterion edition 'schindler's list' dvd behaves quite nicely on my new video player. here's a screen shot i caught tonight. this was the first movie i'd ever seen ralph feinnes in, and i was hooked even from like, the trailer. some have given me the business about it, but i think they should keep in mind one thing: he wasn't really a nazi. but he really was gorgeous. this was a tricky shot to nail down. i had to cut out the actress, and the lighting was strange in the first place, but i'm quite pleased with the results.

the silver ball

here is a gorgeous example of the art of screen capturing. this is a single frame from ken russell's film 'tommy' that jean-lucien sharpshot a long time ago. it was taken from the 'pinball wizard' sequence; and anyone who's seen that film knows how damn fast it gets. a quick eye froze it, and the artist tricked and coaxed it to a perfect color and shimmer. the end result is dazzling, but altogether faithful to the original image.

randy

this is a screen shot i managed to shoot and trick to my taste. its the terribly sexy hugh laurie in the role of bertie wooster. this shot is like, 'blink-and-miss-it,' but thanks to my quick hand, i landed it. it works better in black and white. and i love the particular shape of the 'stash... its jusssst sleazy enough to be... umm, just a little bit on the...dare i say it? ...porno actor side? no wonder jeeves had a big problem with it. hey, the ladies loved it, though!
