loverly grover

so tonight i decided to throw in one of my dvd guilty pleasures; namely the 1968 musical 'half a sixpence,' directed by george sidney. now, ever since the first time i saw this movie... i think sometime in the early to mid 90's, there was one thing that drew me to it like a crazy-strong magnet, and that was mr. grover dale. here he is, playing the sly and cheeky 'pearce' in the screenplay adapted from the HG wells novel, 'kipps.' tommy steele plays arthur kipps, with all his cockney-wonky-toothed hyperactive inexhaustible enthusiasm. and the lush grover dale plays his randy high-steppin' flat mate. i'm not gonna bore you with the story line... kipps and pearce and the lads all work in an english department store, and they try to like, woo women, then kipps strikes it rich, and like, tries not to let it 'change' him, i dunno. honestly, the only parts i've watched more than twice are the parts with grover dale in it. not only is grover dreamy and gorgeous, physically, but he's also a fantastic coreographer and accomplished dancer and advocate for young, struggling dancers everywhere. and he was also married to the super-curvaceous anita morris... you will probably remember anita as the redheaded sexy firecracker in the rolling stones' 'she was hot' video. i can't praise grover enough. to see him dance is to fall in love with him. keep dancing, grover. there has never been anyone better. kisses.

d is for dale...grover dale

i consider grover dale one of the greatest dancers i've ever had the pleasure to watch. and he's also a very sweet man. after praising him on my youtube page, he actually had the courtesy to write and thank me. he has a firecracker style... his coreography is packed with energy and sexuality. i first noticed him in the 1967 film 'half a sixpence,' (he stole every scene he was in handily) but he can also be seen in 'the unsinkable molly brown' and the 1968 french film 'les demoiselles de rochefort' alongside george chakiris, catherine deneuve, and francoise dorleac. (his numbers in that one are so hot.) he can dance, he can sing, and he looks incredible and sexy while he's doing it. i hear he's still dancing, and works tirelessly to promote opportunities for up and coming dancers. he was even married to curvaceous bombshell anita morris. (the hot chick in the 'she was hot' video by the rolling stones.) i doubt darling mr. dale will see this post, but if he does, i love you, babe. you are the best there is. (i think i took the screen capture from 'half a sixpence,' and jean-lucien added the color bursts and scanned it in. so love to jean-luc.) dig it.

pierced

this one is also for sarah. i'm sure i don't have to tell her who it is, or what film its from. but for the rest of you who don't know, and for the 'cause of economy,' its mr. grover dale. or should i say 'the legendary grover dale.' god bless him, as far as i know, he's still dancing.
