swinger

a long time ago, in what seems like a galaxy far, far away... my mate jean-lucien made this piece out of nothing but scissors and paper and glue. before scanning, its actual size was about 8x10. computers were only used for scanning, everything else was done meticulously by hand. jean-lucien's loose, mercurial, dreamlike sense of space and movement and color is unmatched by anyone i've seen in the last ten years or more. i am anxious to hear any comments. what do you think? oh, and if you click on them, they blow up nice and big.

its like a clove-and-orange popsicle of erotic and dangerous suspense. dig it.

nightly ash

he sparkles like an emerald in this shot. cold, hard, glinting and rare. virtually my ideal. but i'd need more than the Nostromo to reach Ian Holm in this particular sexy guise... i'd need a time machine. for it was 1979 when this lovely chap was walking around some sci-fi set, dressed like that, with that silky close haircut and his hot cinched waist and emerald flightsuit, plotting to ensure delivery of the life form. ian, tonight i will devote my fantasies to you; all other priorities rescinded... i repeat, all other priorities rescinded. sigh.

o roy

i didn't want to let another day go by without paying a solemn tribute to the one and only Police Chief of Cool, mr. roy scheider. i can't say enough about the coolness. not only was he the bolt that held the wild bloody ride that is 'Jaws' together, he also starred and stunned in such great flicks as 'the french connection,' (where he looked hot) and also as the cruel slick pimp in 'klute,' and the thinly-veiled pusher Dr. Benway in Cronenberg's 'Naked Lunch.' (i never saw 'Sea Quest.') so lets all raise our glasses and bow our heads to the late great roy scheider.

gorilla

my mate jean-lucien has given me permission to post some of his genius collages. keep in mind when you dig on it, that the original piece before scanning is about 3/4's the size of a dvd case, if not smaller. this means every image in the piece was meticulously scissor-cut by hand...! and arranged and glued down, with plain glue, by hand. if this sounds easy to anyone, try it sometime. he's the finest modern artist i've yet seen, and i am proud to be able to present it to the kids here. dig it.

the lighter side of...

the great dave berg comments on the state of the economy.

room 237

my mate jean-lucien has a real talent for cool. he sent me this lovely slide and i couldn't wait to post it. he retouches and crops and does wild things to an image. this one is glassy and haunting, not to mention terribly pretty. so dig on it, with his kind permission.

movie review : 'so fine'

so bad.

nick rhodes

in retrospect, i think this may have been THE picture that started it all.

the one and only Nick Rhodes.

carolina landscapes out the middleschool window were not

tranquil and alluring enough to rip our gazes away from the

mysterious Face that IS Nick Rhodes.

xtc

i will come right out and say it... XTC have proven they are every bit as good as The Beatles.

they are like the beatles with empty pockets, an aching head, and a hard-on. listen... to 'no thugs in our house' and 'heatwave.'
there is a sense of strained sinew in their earlier works...not unlike an erection arcing at the confines of cruel, tough zippered denim... and therefore, i celebrate the earliest lineup of XTC.
Quality.

notebook

i used to decorate an old fashioned notebook every month or so; in which i wrote longhand in permanent ink . i decorated every cover. this one features the fearless and lovey morrissey, (among a few others) ...launching hard into 'billy budd.' one of his solo best, and i was lucky enough to hear it live. damn good. wow.

mort drucker, period.

how can anyone dispute the expressive genius of Mort Drucker? As i've often said, i grew up broke, with a peach crate full of MAD magazines, and a crate full of Playboys and Penthouses... which lent me a healthy sense of Humor, and a healthy sense of Sex. This rare, perfect, full-page advertisement for the long-defunct 'Pursesttes,' illustrates both my points. dig it. Mr. Drucker? I cannot thank you enough...for everything.

smoking hot holland

i have another confession to make. ugly is the new gorgeous. i submit this painfully sexy shot of mr. jools holland smoking as proof; and also to celebrate the emergence of the Underling as the true Prince Charming. here he is, girls...the irrepressibly cool Julian Miles Holland smoking. have you ever watched, i mean really watched this man play piano? sigh... could you die...?? dig it.

all hail, georgina hale!

i just can't praise english actress Georgina Hale soon enough. she has starred in many of Ken Russell's masterpieces, like "Mahler," and the wrenching genius of "The Devils." Here is a crop from a glossy of a costume study for The Devils. Its to be released on DVD in the US soon. it is required viewing. dig it.

in love with science officer ash

yes, i am. i have been in love with The Nostromo's Science Officer for a long time. Ian Holm never looked hotter and has never turned in a finer performance. i ask you, ladies and open-minded men, isn't he the hottest? he drinks his milk like a good boy. mmmm, cold and delicious!

the almighty complicated virgo

i am a virgo. we are brilliant, but complicated. often troubled, even at times, infuriating. but i am tremendously proud to be the Alice In Wonderland of the Zodiac. here is a page from a very old astrology book from very early in my childhood. even then, i found it to be eerily accurate. dig it.

the unsung sylvie vartan

thanks to the fabulous reach of this glorious machine, i recently discovered the delightful sylvie vartan.

do yourself a favor, and find music and video of her. its out there, and its great. sylvie, if you're out there, i am, in plain terms, one of your biggest fans. here is a french magazine cover i recently found and retouched to my taste. find her, and dig her!

birthday

where do i start? umm, how about with a birthday? hard to believe, but blowing out 60

sexy candles on february 28th, is none other than one of my earliest and enduring girl crushes,

the brilliantly talented and weirdly ageless miss Bernadette Peters was born today.

and i really can't think of a better doll to jump out of this ceremonial cake, than the lovely

Bernadette. i recently found this picture of her which i artistically retouched to my taste.

Enjoy!
