spooky bootleg

yeah, you know i love bootlegs. (mainly where records and videos are concerned.) there used to be these great record and video conventions held in local hotels in the greensboro, high point, winston-salem area in my fond home of north carolina. jean-lucien and i would fill up our sky blue honda accord and head out with cash in hand to see what we could 'score.' and we snagged some good stuff. but ultimately, that's really not the point. the point is bootlegs. japanese, dutch, italian, you name it... some of the coolest stuff seemed to be floating around out there at all times. here's a japanese bootleg i found a picture of. i assume its the 'exorcist' soundtrack, but since i don't read japanese, who knows? it could be some release from damn 'soundgarden' or something. (i don't own any soundgarden... in fact, at the risk of seeming ignorant, i'm not sure what they sound like. metal? mmm, who cares?) anyway, i like this image, so i saved it. linda blair was really a beautiful girl. oh, if you click to enlarge, you'll see i've added my own 'translation' to the japanese script in red white and blue.

p is for party!

yeah, i know this is a weird one. but i get a kick out of it, so here goes. let's see, on the left we have the wild and often-chemically altered mr. keith moon; some anonymous broad to his right, but more importantly, you can see he's got his arm around a teenage-curious, recently-posessed, very, very sexy miss linda blairrrr! wow, what a wild night that must've been. i can only imagine the 'intake' that went down that night, if you know what i mean. and i should mention that i didn't add-juxtapose the image of linda on the cover of the e-classy, classy 'oui' on the right. like, i fished it that way right off the web. i like linda blair a lot. she's 100% cool in my book. i think she's adorable in the late 70's skate-ploitation film 'rollerboogie.' she was so cute, so curvy and tanned and sassy with her big glossy make-up job. dig it. darling volume

now, you're really gonna have to 'click to enlarge' this one to get the full detail. its a journal cover i made a few years ago. the main model is none other than a giggling, young, monkees-era davy jones taken from the 'monkees mind their manor' episode. (the only episode directed by peter tork.) i seem to have over-embellished the lower left hand corner with glitter and pen work and such. the stars featured in the circles above are; from left to right: f. murray abraham as salieri, linda blair from 'roller boogie,' andy partridge, patti lupone as evita, nancy allen from '1941, and a little bit of ian holm as fluellen in 'henry v.' as much as its been handled, it still looks pretty groovy if i do say so myself. i do love that pink-and-sea-green color scheme.
