wild dracula

yes, i wanted some color, so here's a splash of hot red via this rare-ish poster for andy warhol's 'dracula.' i'm not sure what year it was released, and i'm not gonna look it up tonight. i'm sure part of my tired brain knows who starred in it... oh wait, it was udo kier right? and the kid joe-whats-his-name? i actually have never seen it myself, well... i've seen parts of it, but hey, that was a long time ago. i guess it was groovy enough. it was bloody-like-i-like-it-to-be. and i think udo kier is very talented and largely unsung, as a motion picture talent. so um, dig on this rare poster. hey, sink your teeth into it...!

valentino smokes

i missed a big birthday yesterday. the great rudolph valentino was born 113 years ago. and his beauty is still as striking as ever. i just wanted to let his ghost know someone remembered, even if i was one day late. i'm sorry about that, rudy. i'll make it up to you, i promise. sigh. so lovely, so legendary. sleep well, lover. amen.

your love is king

i wanted to end with a little color, so here's a shot i found a long time ago. i don't remember where i found it, but i do know its for some recording associated with the 70's version of 'king kong,' starring jessica lange. that version was such a turkey it had pre-disposed me to thinking peter jackson's 'kong' was going to suck as hard. but of course, we all know that it didn't. i happen to think jackson's 'kong' is excellent. in fairness, i like jessica's costume in the 70's version. and i love her haircut. but honestly, those are the two best things about the whole gobbling production.

bogart smokes

tonight's featured smoker may be the only thing that gets posted tonight. i'm still officially 'fishing,' so i only have a little time. so here's a lovely shot of the smart, tough, pretty humphrey bogart. and he's smoking. and i don't really have too much else to say about it. if anyone can speak for himself, mr. bogart can.
