o daddy

i dont remember much about my father. i can't even see his face no matter how hard i try to imagine...
all i have are hazy, half-focused memories. there was a house in florida, and on one of the walls of that house, there was a reproduction of a richard amsel print. an illustration of bette midler. so here it is. i even remember it was to the right of the stereo and record collection, somewhere near some blinds. if that house still stands, i wonder if any trace of myself or jean-lucien still remains. its possible.

dog days

i'm busy diving and tricking and keeping track of my accidental cat, so i really don't have my attention focused in the way that i'd like, but i wanted to at least post something, so i figured why not settle on mr. al pacino from the 1975 sidney lumet classic, 'dog day afternoon.' i must have some kind of twisted fetish for bank jobs, cinematically, because i always end up digging on them in a very hot, particular way. oh well, confessions aside, tonight i found this gorgeous shot of al pacino as the flamboyant and confused protaganist sonny wortzik. look at those eyes...! sometimes his pale prettiness just strikes me... i really should dig this movie up and watch it that proverbial 'one more time.' anyway, dig it. (click to really enlarge.)

tv people

so tonight i threw in my 'poltergeist' disc to get some shots from it. i didn't get very far...i found myself getting so hooked on the film itself that i kind of forgot to take pictures. my disc didn't produce the best results anyway, but i did manage to snag a few shots of the late, (and in my opinion, pretty great) heather o'rourke as the chosen carolanne. something about summer in the suburbs just screams, 'hey, let's roll poltergeist!' and yes indeed, it did add a little spooky something to my summertime night. it was so hard to get a decent shot of anyone... most of the time the gorgeous jobeth was moving or talking or standing in the light of vertical blinds or throwing her hair around. but just to make summer feel more like summer, i wanted to post something from the film. dig it.

deelish

i love old magazines from the seventies. i don't remember where i ran across this nostalgic shot of tempting sundaes and the corresponding suggestion that we housewives serve them in brandy snifters for all our 70's household neighborhood friends. but i just like the photo quality. the composition is nice, too. i'm not even a huge ice cream sundae fan... there's always too much stuff i'm not crazy about getting in the way of the stuff i actually do want. actually, if that one in the upper-left hand corner has something to do with pistachios, then you know that they can pass it down.

carrollita

hey, nobody loves carroll baker more than me... so it was me that paid cash-bucks several years ago for a vhs copy of the film 'the miracle,' wherein miss baker played an innocent nun that falls in love with a soldier played by a very young, blonde, pre-james bond roger moore. yeah, if i remember correctly, after carroll wrecks her vows for the soldier, she falls from the faith to become a castanet dancer or something. yeah, it sucked pretty hard, but i wanted to post a shot of carroll, so here you are. even in a snooze-fest like 'the miracle' she takes her acting pretty seriously. and she looks damn nice in the dress.

george is dead

i just heard.
george, dead at 71.
....hay-mennnn!
i can just see him up there,
getting back everything
he ever lost.
good-bye, george.
and thanks.

tarkin and leia...?

i've been watching a lot of 'star wars' lately; mostly 'new hope' and 'empire.' so i thought i'd mark tonight's place with a little not-yet-seen-by-me artwork. i apologize for not having any credits for it. like, i can't tell you who's responsible for assembling this cool-and-adequate collage, but i think its pretty groovy... and, as i said, i've been rolling those two movies as 'lamp' for the whole weekend, so i figured what the hell, right? i'm a little puzzled why tarkin and leia are like, foremost in this piece...? like, it kind of makes it seem like the two of them are on the same side. (yeah, right.) so this might be the only post for the night, so um... may the force be with you.

rock follies : viva nova - video

details later.

stormy

i'm still on hold here. i've been watching a lot of 'star wars.' so to hold my place, here are two dutiful Empirial troops. (or is it Imperial?) yeah, i know they're supposed to be evil, so lets just imagine these two are Han and Luke after they suit up to go rescue the princess. which makes me wonder, like... what did Han do with those two footsoldiers after they stripped their uniforms off? did he like, stash them in one of his smuggling compartments? did he kill them? i mean, you never hear about them again after that. more soon, lovers. and may the force be with you.
