mmm, sweet dark mysterious eleanor bron. you most likely know her as the far-eastern playful Ahme in the beatles 'help,' but she's shown herself in so much more. in her solid career she's starred alongside the likes of dudley moore in the original 'bedazzled,' and was a brazen scene-stealer in ken russell's 'women in love.' i cannot think of her without imagining violets. although never represented as such, to me she is one of the great bombshell sex symbols of the last 50 years. everything from her lilting seashell voice to her arcing heavy brow and fine white skin...i cannot watch her without sighing. even as the screwish mrs. minchin in the recent 'a little princess,' she had my sympathy and deepest masochistic affection. she is an unsung master of her Art. eleanor, the stories you could tell... sigh.
