he's on the phone!

yeah, its hard to explain, but there's just something sexy about a hot lovely man on the phone...! its like, is he calling me? (mmm, i wish.) here we have a shot of the early-to-mid-90's hugh laurie, as bertie wooster in the bbc series 'jeeves and wooster.' i don't remember enough about the episode to remember why he was on the phone, or who he was talking to, but its still very sexy. don't ask me why. its like he just can't contain his passions in the midnight hour, and simply has to call someone to come over and fulfill his desires. i took the freeze-frame myself from the dvd, quite a while ago, and i'm still very pleased with the results. i did a little tricking, as usual, with the color and contrast. i cropped it, too... for optimum frame composition. (?) so dig it, the lovely lush hugh laurie, calling for some upper-crust 'flesh for fantasy' companionship. (click to enlarge)

creamy jeeves

yeah, i admit it... last night, for 'old time's sake,' i threw in one of my jeeves and wooster dvds and couldn't help taking a couple of shots. the film stock on that series is very 'hit and miss,' as they used several directors and photographers and all that. but one thing is inarguable: stephen fry never looked better. here's a shot i snagged last night of the always-crafty jeeves, smirking. i think he's trying to get his master, bertie wooster, out of jail for something. those wodehouse plots are all so similar its almost as predictable as some upper-crust english 'scooby-doo.' like, in every episode, about four of the same constant elements converge to knit up the zany plot neatly, and always in favor of the protagonists. (man, am i in 'lit class' or something?) still, i was lucky to get this minty, dreamy, creamy shot of stephen-as-jeeves. he was on the screen for less than like, four and a half seconds, making that face. and i tricked the contrast, of course. it enlarges quite nicely.

l is for laurie

ohhhh, my darling love, hugh laurie. sigh. i know i mention it often, but i pride myself on having had a crush on hugh like, a full decade or more before he struck all the common screens in 'house.' this shot is a screen capture i shot from the first-ever episode of the bbc's 'jeeves and wooster.' i turned it black and white and tricked the contrast. man, i don't know what it IS about hugh that makes me remember the 'good parts' about being in love. i mean, he's not even that cute by 'conventional' standards. but on the other hand, he's not quite ugly enough to qualify for the 'ugly is the new cute' classification. maybe its those ocean blue eyes. maybe its because he makes me laugh. his bit as the scarfaced jailer in the second season of 'blackadder' is hilarious. most of his sketch comedy series with stephen fry ('a bit of fry and laurie') was very funny and clever. i love the fact that he seems thin, but if you really look at his body in the 'jeeves and wooster' series, he's actually quite substantial. i mean, his chest and legs and back and thighs and shoulders look big and heavy, like heavy enough to 'pin you down.' ahhhh, man. i know he's like, all married and everything. i guess that's why the Good Lord gave me a very active and very, very vivid imagination. hey, hugh... i'll be 'thinking about you' later, whether you like it or not. mmmm.

blue eyes

i think i'll end the night with a shot of hugh laurie playing bertie wooster. look at the magnificent blue of his eyes. sigh... i'm totally in love with him. honestly, i didn't retouch the shade of blue in his eyes. that incredible color is all hugh laurie. needless to say, this picture is at least ten years old, but that indescribable shade of blue remains. its eyes like these that cause a girl to drop her defenses and make impulsive desicions. he's just got something, facially, that i find competely irresistible. so good-night, my darling mr. laurie, and good night, friends and lovers. below, the dazzling miss sylvie vartan is ready to take you to church.

ducky

here's a nice black and white shot i managed to cultivate from a frame of 'jeeves and wooster.' yes, that's the lush and lovely mr. hugh laurie as bertie wooster; up to his neck in hot water as usual. he's just gorgeous. i tried another version in color, but the grain worked better in black and white. and all this is 'pre-HOUSE.' like, i've been in love with hugh since some time around 1988.

bed and bertie

yes, the sexy hugh laurie as bertie wooster. i don't even remember what was going on in this episode... he was most likely trying to get out of an arranged marriage. but i like this screen shot i captured of him on a bed in some kind of english inn. i gotta be honest, i just want to pin him down on that little bed, climb on top of him, and tear all his clothes off. i was in a local store with my friend belinda today... and as we were checking out, i noticed hugh-laurie-as-dr. house was on the cover of some celebrity magazine... he looked so hot i almost forgot to get my change. i'm not kidding.

jeeves is lovely

yes, stephen fry was never lovelier than he was during the 'jeeves and wooster' years. i used this sharp-shot screen capture as an artful study of his stunning profile. despite the broken nose he comes off every bit as haunting and classic as garbo or barrymore. i first saw stephen fry in the 'bambi' episode of 'the young ones,' but it took me almost 15 years to really appreciate his talent, beauty, and wit. and hey, all you slashfic girls, if you want to see him kiss a couple of guys, rent 'wilde.' there are one or two really nice kisses in there.

garnett

yet another bloke in my 'ugly-is-the-new-cute' movement. this is richard garnett. he portrayed the exaggeratedly uncool and awkward character gussie finknottle in the 'jeeves and wooster' series. i managed to capture his striking profile in black and white. he has such fine skin, and he looks like he'd be a hot and fervent kisser. also, i like glasses and long noses and black hair. at least in this case. (this frame from the episode 'the hunger strike.')

randy

this is a screen shot i managed to shoot and trick to my taste. its the terribly sexy hugh laurie in the role of bertie wooster. this shot is like, 'blink-and-miss-it,' but thanks to my quick hand, i landed it. it works better in black and white. and i love the particular shape of the 'stash... its jusssst sleazy enough to be... umm, just a little bit on the...dare i say it? ...porno actor side? no wonder jeeves had a big problem with it. hey, the ladies loved it, though!

laurie

i want to be plain about this... i've been crushed on hugh laurie long before dr. house. it was around 1986 when i first noticed him, and i've been in love ever since. hugh laurie is an interesting case... i mean, i can't figure out what i find so irresistible about him. perhaps its the fact that he plays effortless piano. perhaps its his shoulders and chest, restrained beneath all those shirts and undershirts and suspenders whilst filming 'jeeves and wooster.' ( he really had to wear all those clothes...and on a few instances, ended up soaked in them...!) perhaps its the honeyed quality of his voice... perhaps its the sapphire blue eyes. perhaps its the common link of Scottish blood. i will most likely never know. all i know is this: i would follow him even unto the Altar.
i do.
