back to bach

contrary to popular belief, the actress barbara bach, (seen here) is no relation to the Duke's cousin, daisy, played by catherine bach. that cleared up, dig this great magazine ad from the mid 70's. we see barbara, all hippied up in her girly pad, looking wistful. according to the copy, she's apparently dreaming of all the Lenox china she's gonna get when she meets her prince charming and gets married. hmmm, something tells me that when this chestnut-haired bombshell met and married a certain mr. RINGO STARR..., yes, THE beatle, ringo starr; something tells me there probably wasn't an overflow of cheapish department store dishware at that reception. i think the most famous drummer in the entire universe was probably able to afford something a little more dazzling than plates and saucers. i always thought they made a super couple. i always liked barbara, too... she even managed to swallow a little bit of pride and starred alongside her husband as 'Lana' in the 1981 ...cult hit? "Caveman." (also starring Dennis Quaid, as you probably know.) hey, part of me wants to see that movie again... and a larger part of me really, really does NOT. but barbara's still cool in my book. hey. she's sexy, she's a Beatle wife, and i dug her in "Force Ten From Navarone." (and what's with that bizarro 'snakeoid' stuffed animal toy at her feet?)

Didn't they get sober together? A world class couple.
