aramis

this is one of my journals. i did all the writing within, and also deocrated the cover. the main image in the center is mike nesmith, live on tour with the monkees at the pitch of their popularity. also seen are morrissey ( at the top ) liza minnelli, and a cutting of some young miss in a former collage. overall, i was satisfied with it. i don't know what i'll do if they stop making those standard black and white composition books. but i have noticed one thing. and it coincided with the rising price of gasoline. as soon as the cost started going up at 'the pump,' the cardboard covers started getting thinner and flimsier and less rigid. now i'm forced to deal with a supply of damn wibbly books... and they cost almost twice as much! greed sucks.

lui le tigre

tiger, tiger burning bright... you make that leotard seem 'very right.' okay, so i'm no william blake. but i do know foxiness when i see it. this fierce chick is making it wild with her jungle-themed bathing suit... thing. and hey, she's also rocking a whip. maybe she wants to tame herself? i had an animal-print bathing suit once. i know there's pictures of me wearing it somewhere. i was probably like, fourteen? man, i was a nymphet. but let's get back to this groovy growlin' cover. just one more in a long line of 'lui's' i plan to post. so stay tuned.

lui 'love'

hey, it's the special tennis issue. man, i soooo know nothing about tennis, and who's playing tennis, and who's currently winning at tennis, or what. but i do dig this foxy chick's backside. but her backhand? honestly i couldn't care less. sorry. every so often a friend of mine who follows tennis wants to tell me all about it; the rivalries and all that... and i really hope my 'i'm interested' face is convincing. i really wanna be more interested, but i find myself forced to fake it. but i don't have to fake being appreciative of this young sportsters cutie behind.

lui vroom, vroom

'des voitures et des filles.' my French is a little rusty, but doesn't that roughly translate to 'cars and chicks?' hence, the little blonde chick in that even littler car. it seems there's also an article about brian epstein. and we all know he was 'all about' chicks. still, i dig those knee-high boots.

lui angleterre

woof, it's the special Englsih edition! you can tell, because the i is dotted with a Union Jack, and she's got an umbrella hangin' on. true, she's pants-less... but other than that, she's dressed all proper! and she's even got those argyle socks on those smoothy femme legs. i love her long brown hair, her natural make-up look, and it seems there's an article about mick jagger in there. is that what made it the English issue? or did they get ahold of mick because they already had the English theme planned? in the end, it doesn't matter, 'cause she's cute.

lui goes patriotic

at first glance, i thought these were actual American flag panties, and i wanted to know where i could get a pair for myself... but upon closer inspection, i realized it was body paint. o say can you see... her hot buns-so-tight... ( did i just actually type that? ) hey, no joke... let's get serious for a second... i truly do support the troops overseas; not just on this day, but always. i feel many ways about the West and our role in the workings of the world as a whole, but i support the troops. jobs are slipping through our fingers every day, and i salute those that roll the dice every day with their very lives and limbs. i thank you. but what's wrong with a bit of sexy b-sides action? nothing i can see. so here's a hot bit of cheesecake. and God Bless America.

lui and a plastic jacket

mmm, i love these 'lui' covers. this one features a lovely model i am unable to name, wearing a blue plastic jacket thing. it sells for seven francs. and i'll bet it's worth every penny. ( well, the French equivalent of a penny. ) one of the articles seems to be about 'the scandalous secrets of sherlock holmes.' what are they gonna disclose? like, -voop!- he was a fictional character.

lui ala bardot

brigitte bardot graces the cover of this issue of 'lui.' i've never been a real zealous bardot fan; but i am the first to admit, i've seen very, very little of her work. but i respect her impact as an icon. and she's all about animal rights. and morrissey is personal friends with her. but more than all of that, i love magazine covers. from what i've been able to gather, 'lui' was sort of like, France's version of Playboy or Penthouse. man, i'd love to have a big stack of 'lui's' fall in my lap.

ann-margret in furs...

the temperatures outside may be chilly, but on 'planetcool,' they are steadily rising, thanks to the sultry and plush shot of miss ann-margret in a fancy pink high-collared fur. man, how has ann-margret managed to stay so virtually unscarred in her lifelong fantastic career? i cannot remember ANY serious drama, except for when she dated Elvis and fell off a stage in ...Vegas, i think it was? she should've won the Oscar for best supporting actress for 'tommy.' she killed that role. she was nominated... who won that year? ( checking.... ) oh, well... it was louise fletcher from 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest.' actually, as much as i'd like to, i find it difficult to argue with that. notably, milos forman is one of my favorite directors... i am far more in love with ken russell, but i don't make the rules. ( shrugging gesture.)

the divine ethel merman... in furs.

ohhhh, don't even get me started on ethel merman. if you want a real amazing treat for the ears, you need to snag yourself a copy of her early hits from broadway and elsewhere. if you're just expecting the overly-bombastic, brassy, loud-ass ethel that everyone bags on, you're in for a pleasant awakening. those earlier recordings are some of the finest and most gorgeous stuff i've ever heard. the record you should seek out? just try to find the oldest stuff you can. preferably 'i get a kick out of you.' the one with the mostly white cover and the lavender illustrations on 'flapper' records. it's a record i'd want for a desert island. a lot of cole porter, some irving berlin... some of the best stuff there is.

lauren hutton quartered

you know i love magazine covers from this era. and i've always liked lauren hutton; ever since i saw her as charlotte taylor-wilson in 'zorro the gay blade.' but even if this model wasn't lauren hutton, i'd still think it was groovy. i dig the four different make-up styles; very successfully executed. and she's so foxy to begin with. let's see, we've got 'the sadist.' apparently sadists like wearing a ton of eye shadow and mascara. then we have 'the virgin.' yeah, alright. third we have 'the french maid.' ahhh, that one seems a little reaching. i think that was just their way of saying ( or implying ) 'slut.' and finally, 'the babysitter?' again, i'm slightly unclear. i did a lot of babysitting back in the day, and i don't think i ever rocked the nude lip color. still, as i said, i love lauren hutton. and magazine covers. and make-up.

ro and guil

ro and guil... ro and guil...
so much sexiness, i don't know if i can get my fill. with their leathery togs and their stoppard-y speech, i think i want them to make a backseat 'reach.'
to diagnose Hamlet, yes... they were sent for...
my body, undressed for them, it shall be bent for. one is fair haired, and one is brunette...
wait, can i even tell them apart yet?
with a heiss game of 'questions,' rhetoric is forbidden... i know of two 'staffs' that are begging to be ridden.
let nothing be hidden.
o sweet rosencrantz, o sexy guil...
take me, even against my will.
with rapier wit, they deconstruct the Bard.
i want to make them hard.
to be or not to be, that is the question.
i want to give both of them an erection.
o, guildenstern... o rosencrantz...
canst i not get in thy pants?

plush

this is one of jean-lucien godet's personal journals. the main image is keir dullea from kubrick's '2001.' in the dots across the bottom we've got a hazy early-era simon le bon, the french bombshell sylvie vartan, ( look her up on youtube ) a flower, a color flash, the swami-fied micky dolenz from the 'mijacogeo' episode, and two blokes who i fail to recognize at the moment. such fine work. seriously, why have a ho-hum notebook, when you can have one that looks like this...?

lui magazine

i've never actually had my hands on a copy of 'lui' magazine, but it seems like it's right up my street. mmm, i like this cover for so many reasons. those sheer white panties make me go, 'oui, oui, oui' for 'lui.' from what i've been able to determine from my very brief ( no pun intended ) research, 'lui' was like a kind of french Playboy. hey, i don't care what language it was in, 'sexiness' is an international language. i've got over two dozen of these covers, and i plan to feature most of them on the 'planet.' so if that kind of thing bothers you, fair warning. and to those of you that dig this stuff, get ready for more.

'avin a shave

gear fab, it's johnny-john lennon, and he' s 'avin' a shave...! ahhh, personally, from all i know about john, that shaver could very well not even be plugged in. he just might be using it as a prop for some good ol' fashioned beatlesque f'in' aroun'. he is a beautiful guy, though. i love john from that era... when he was still at a healthy weight. actually, when i think back on it, john never really rocked a look i couldn't get behind. i love how he looked here, i love how he looked ala sgt. pepper, and i loved how he looked in the shaggy-beard 'lady madonna' days. sighhhh... sweet john.

sweet seventeen

ohhhh, i love magazine covers from this era. i used to have some 'seventeen's from this era, and they were like, twice as big, size-wise... like, you could fit almost two modern 'seventeens' into the 'seventeens' i remember from back then. i love this cover. i wanted to say that was ali mcgraw, but this is '68, and i don't know if she was working yet that long ago. okay, let's see.... what does this issue promise? hey, a report on 'the clique mistique.' i think i can sum that up in just a few sentences: there are cliques; there are always going to be cliques; if you're a teen girl, you better hope you belong to 'the good clique,' and finally, 'there IS no mistique about cliques.' and we're also promised the earth-shattering article entitled, 'HELP! i hate my nose.' guess what, girls? i've hated MY nose at some points in my life, all girls do, it'll pass when you have to start worrying about things like paying for college and ovarian cancer. ( wait, i think i may have just 'over-snarky-ed' myself. )

mardi jacquet

ahhh, those heavenly ladies from the greatest days of 'Playboy.' i remember this centerfold 'as if it was yesterday.' i would probably be able to tell you her name on sight. it's the sophisticated and sexy miss mardi jacquet. i remember that silver bolo tie between her smallish and realistic boobs... that short haircut; which was somewhat unusual amongst playmates from that era. her face is flawless, of course. but i remember i used to think her face indicated an intelligence that wasn't always there with playmates. i remember that lasso, and above all, that gorgeous aquamarine stone on her ring finger. man, i'd love to go back in time and personally thank all the great and daring ladies who were brave enough to take it all off back then. man, she's beautiful. ( oh, and just a word to any 'planetcool' viewers who are bothered by a picture like this? i just wanna say i will post-and-celebrate pictures like this from time to time. so... heads up. no pun intended. )

ashes to ashes

yes, here is a large and lovely shot of david bowie, on the eve of the 80's, dressed in his pseudo-clown persona, smoking, alongside some guy-i-don't-know-who-it-is. ( david mallet, the director, maybe...? ) i think its groovy that i've met a lot of young kids that know david bowie from growing up with him as jareth in 'labyrinth,' and they think that's what he's all about. mmm, they need to start like, media-digging. david bowie still looks fantastic to this day. drinking virgin alien blood? a deal with the devil? who can say. but he's still on top of the world. and yeah, i must admit, this shot tickles my 'men smoking' fetish.

in print

about every five weeks or so, i find i've filled up another journal with hot trash and a lotta verbal screwin' aroun.' and every journal gets a hand-decorated cover. personally decorated and titled by me, almadora english. this one features a groovy mr. peter tork, in a bookshop, wearing a hippy top, snagging some literary buys. included in the collage portion below, we see olivia newton-john ( with the stack of books ) morrissey, from an early-to-mid 90's concert tour, a miniature collage of jean-luc's, r.e.m., who have now called it quits... umm, a few colorful scraps, ian holm as napoleon at six 0'clock, and georgina hale in ken russell's 'mahler.' i make a sweet journal cover, if i do say so myself.

mmm, nick

ahhh, sweet nick rhodes. what a face. all the time i was a teenager, and hopelessly in love with nick rhodes, i knew there were countless pictures of him and the rest of the duran guys that i thought i'd never see. and now, thanks to the magic of the computer age, i am able to see so much hot duran deliciousness. like this shot of glam nick rhodes.
