married

mr. and mrs. miller, ladies and gentlemen. i look at this lovely photograph, and i wonder things like: what did they talk about at the breakfast table? did they enjoy the same music and radio programs? did they make a lot of eye contact with eachother? could he make her laugh? things like that. i've never been married. i could pretend to be all aloof and bag on it, like, as an institution... but the truth is, i'd love to get married someday. at least once. but i want to be clear... i never envision a big expensive wedding. a registry office or even some city hall thing would be cool with me. but i'd like to do it for this reason: when someone asks me if i was ever married, i'd like to be able to say yes, and have some sort of story to tell. even if it was ironic or unglamorous.
