cheering up

so, as most of my mates know by now, i'm rebuilding my image library from the ground-up, but i'm determined to post at least one thing every night. so um, hey! for the hell of it, dig this breezy, free-and-easy shot of miss julie andrews, posing it up with some froofy purple feathered thing. i love julie, seriously, but something about this shot cracks me up. maybe she's singing her lesser-known 1970 hit pop single, "trixie-pop girl." you know, it was the one that went, "i want to be your trixie-pop girl... pull out the rumble seat, lets go for a whirl... all the other sue's and sally's had better step aside, your trixie-pop girl wants to go for a ride.." yeah, you know, it was pretty big. and then it had the chorus, "...knocking knees," (wooden knock-knock sound effect) "...swinging from the trees," (corny 'wheeee!'-whistle sound effect) "...the she's and he's... are all aiming to please...!" etc, etc. i think it was featured in one of her early bbc tv specials. i think the name of it was 'oh, to be julie!' and i think you can snag it on e-bay. i think some of the other tracks are 'do the tortellini,' 'oh, james,' and the 7 minute-long slowie, 'the clover's all over.'
