yes, as i mentioned below, i did some screen capturing from david cronenberg's 'naked lunch' last night. and, as i also mentioned, the film stock was extremely
'friendly.' like, the grain almost stuck its tongue down my throat and felt up my breast! sighh... no, seriously though, it was a pleasure to work with such high quality. even the most difficult shots with the hardest lighting proved to be trickable on some level... even if i had to turn them black and white. this shot shows the lovely suited-up ian holm as tom frost. he's sticking up lee to get his typewriter back, i think. hey, as a writer, i can definitely relate. but lucky for me, my 'martinelli' is in my mind. i must've taken a dozen shots of him in this sequence. ian just has one of those faces... even the most miniscule change in expression makes for an altogether different picture. i almost discarded this one of ian baring his teeth, but fortunately, i decided to keep it and trick it, and ultimately, i liked the result. jean-luc might even be able to tell you what line of dialogue he's speaking. he's seen the flick a few dozen times more than me. i allowed myself to get a little bit creative with the color, though. i mean, if you just watch this scene straight from the dvd, it doesn't really look that green at all. but like i said, i'm pleased with the way it came out. oh, and tom... sorry about your beloved martinelli.
