lunch with julian

yeah, i threw in the collector's edition dvd copy of 'naked lunch' last night and decided to try my luck playing around with it. released in 1991, this david cronenberg 'interpretation' of the william s. burroughs novel has some of the finest film grain i've ever worked with, as far as capturing and tricking goes. i got some excellent shots. like this one, of julian sands as the mincing and clean-cut eve cloquet. he's dabbing his lips with a scarlet napkin during a dinner with bill lee. (paul weller) personally, i've often wondered why julian sands isn't a bigger star than he is. i mean, he's got obvious blonde good looks, and his acting is more than adequate. perhaps its a case of his prettieness working against him. maybe some people don't believe he can be that pretty, and 'legit' at the same time. whilst i was outside smoking earlier, my mind found itself making up a little poem about him. it went something like: '...julian sands, julian sands... on your body, i want to make some sensual demands. you steamed up the screen in the thriller 'warlock,' and in 'room with a view,' you dared to flash your nude balls and cock...' that's more or less as far as i got. anyway, dig this silky capture of miss cloquet. very pretty.
