yes, oddly enough 'a hard day's night' is the last movie i saw in the theater. amazingly, it was almost ten years ago. there was a theater in boston that was running the film as some sort of vintage-revival thing. i'd never seen it on the big screen, and even though i was a completely full-grown adult woman and all that, when i saw those boys up there, bigger than life, lit up like quicksilver, it was unexpectedly hard for me not to squeal and pound my feet on the theater floor. if i never see another movie in the theater, i will always be proud to say 'a hard days' night' was my last one. apart from it being a delicious liverpudlian man-fest, its a very good movie. funny, clever, well-done, and the music is of course, excellent. here's a shot i just found like, ten minutes ago, but i think it symbolizes the film quite well. hey, its a sexy mid-60's showgirl backstage with an aghast-for-no-reason paul mccartney. man, that dude who's walking around england these days using paul's name? like, who is he, and what has he done with the real paul mccartney?
