peter's posters

i thought i'd posted all my 'young' shots of peter ustinov, but apparently not. i found this one whilst i was digging around in older files. peter was one of my earliest crushes. in fact, i think i had a crush on his voice before i ever saw his face, and didn't even know it. i remember when jean-luc and i were very young... like, 8 years old, we had this sound recording, on vynil, of the disney 'robin hood' movie. peter ustinov was the voice of the wicked prince john. after all these years, i remember how his voice stuck in my head. i remember even looking it up on the booklet the record came with. it was the accent, the texture, the tone, it was everything. not too long after that, i saw 'evil under the sun.' peter played hercule poirot, of course. i was in love at first sight. it don't know if it was because my young brain actually believed ustinov was solving the murder, i'm not sure. i've always liked smart men. and that voice! mmmm, so lush and complicated. here he is at about age 21 or so, amidst some french theatrical posters. just look at the sturdiness of his body....man, i want to 'jump-him-serious.'
