yes, march is fresh on the calendar... and outside tonight, up here in the north, a load of fresh snow is quickly piling up on the deck and ground. but if you ask curvy, sexy marilyn, she'll tell you we're 'havin' a heatwave, a tropical heatwave.' here's a shot of the magical miss 'MM' as the young starlet vicki parker in the 1954 backstage film 'there's no business like show business.' she plays a hot cabaret singer who gets vaudevillian donald o'connor to fall in love with her. she has at least three cool numbers in this underrated movie, including the steamy 'heatwave' bit. i tried to post this picture in color, but it just wasn't working. the shades were far too gaudy. but even in black and white, her dreamy creamy sexy curves come through. i mean, man... look at that sweet little fleshy fold at her waist... yum! look at those arms... you just wanna like, shake some salt on her and take a bite. i remember reading some place that this costume caused a lot of furor with the censors because of how that triangle is cut out beneath her belly button. mmm, how times have changed. in any case, this movie is worth a look, because at any given time, either ethel merman is on, or mitzi gaynor is on, or donald o'connor is on, or marilyn monroe is on. like, how can you lose? unless you happen to accidentally land on boring johnnie ray's big number.
