mrs. starr

or was she mrs. starkey? well, we know for sure she was miss bach... miss barbara bach. and hey, i just learned last night after a little digging around, she's totally no relation to catherine bach; miss daisy duke. i remember thinking they were sisters or something, but apparently they're not... i found no evidence of that in my research. and yeah, i know what you're thinking; this picture doesn't even look like her... i mean, not at first glance, but its her, from her early days as a cover model. and we all know she had quite a movie career in the 70's... she was even a slinky, sexy bond girl... she played major anya amasova in the 1977 bond flick 'the spy who loved me.' she also turned up as a military femme fatale named maritza petrovich in 1978's 'force ten from navarone.' sometime around 1980, she met famous beatle drummer ringo starr, and the couple 'starred' together in the somewhat uneven, juvenile, but 'worth-a-look' stone age spoof 'caveman.' (1981) man, i haven't seen that movie in over 20 years. i wonder what i would think of it now? (i remember dennis quaid as an ice age caveman, peeing square ice cubes or something... ) anyway, i liked this shot of barbara... its a groovy magazine cover just on those merits alone. but hey, since she was a beatle wife too, i figured it was well worth a post.
