foxy

yes, the fine fox brothers. there's james fox, who starred in the legendarily cool 'performance' with mick jagger and anita pallenberg, and then there's his slightly older brother edward fox, who starred in one of my fave weekend movies 'force ten from navarone.' every time 'navarone' is on, i'll let it roll. hey, it features a youngie harrison ford, barbara 'mrs. ringo starr' bach, the guy who beat up rocky in the first movie, and quint-from-jaws; mr. robert shaw. yes, if you watch carefully, if it wasn't for edward fox's character 'miller,' they wouldn't be able to like, blow up the bridge and all that. and he also has one of 'navarone's' best lines: '...we can't just sit here like ducks in thunder.' he's the coolest. and so handsome, too. so hey, eddie baby, where ever you are, i thank you for all your handsome contributions to cinema... and hey, kiss your brother for me. oh, let's not forget, he also steals the show in the albert finney movie 'the dresser,' as the fey and impolite mr. oxenby. speaking of 'thunder,' when the wartime production of 'king lear' is in danger of losing its tempestuous special effects, it's oxenby who realizes the play takes precendence over his attitude, and decides, at the last minute, to take the meteorological boomings into his own hands. i love you, eddie baby. you're the coolest.
