miss eddie

yes, this is eddie izzard, in full-out 'realistic' 1940's drag for the lesser-known 2001 film 'all the queen's men.' its about a bunch of guys who go in drag during world war II in order to... infiltrate some spy thing or something, i don't know. it wasn't the best movie in the world. (matt 'friends' le blanc in is in, in drag, if you can believe it.) well, mr. le blanc doesn't 'cut it,' in drag, but not surprisingly, eddie really does. i mean, he doesn't change much... he doesn't change his voice at all, but his costume and manner works for him. he really is an effective female impersonator... and he's the only one in the movie that you actually believe could 'get past' the nazis without being 'discovered.' ( i mean, 'joey' from 'friends' in a dress? it looks like exactly what is sounds like.) if you ever have the opportunity to roll 'all the queen's men,' AND you have the facility to fast-forward though the many 'boring parts,' then i guess its worth a look. eddie is fun to watch.
