hey, as if i needed another reason to dig robert de niro, here he is, digging in some conversation with my new darling, clash frontman, mr. joe strummer. hey, i guess i shouldn't be too surprised. mr. strummer was in fact, in a major movie directed by mr. martin scorsese. yes, if you're able to get your hands on a nice, letterboxed copy of the fabulous 'the king of comedy,' you can see joe strummer, on the street, hanging out with ellen foley, and fellow 'clash-man' mick jones. yeah, its kind of a 'blink-and-miss-it' kind of thing. as far as i can remember, its during the scene where sandra bernhard is yelling on the street about, '...i cover the waterfront,' etc. they cut to these punks like, jeering her... and yes, one of those punks is joe strummer. hey, i'd like to see that movie again. its one of my 'scorsese' faves.
